    Bing Map need something to compete with this.

    Or at least something that is unified and gives what people want. For example, it comes to my attention that Bing map is using various techs, but, they are all mushed together. Like hidden VR street view, compiled street view, airplane view (with lots of out of photo black tiles), 3D building in airplane view, and etc.

    Just too many things and nothing really shines. Tech like C3 seems to be able to offer an unified experience. Not sure if it can do street for not, but, it is possible to merge airplane and street views into one 3D model if the street camera also takes depth information.

    That looks incredible. How on earth are they going to deliver all that geometry and image data fast enough? I'm still sitting around tapping my fingers while I wait for satellite imagery to load when I zoom in too fast on both Google and Bing Maps.

    @Bas:

    I suppose we can use some kind of accumulative mash and texture format? I don't know how this would work because on one has yet to make accumulative mash and texture in games.

    the last vid says flying at 500m gives them cm resolution... Can you imagine, this day and age, to have an UAV flying that low over a busy cityscape?

    I'll give it less than 10 years and we'll see realtime maps via UAVs above populated areas and near realtime in unpulated areas.

    Oh, and I know it shouldn't, but it pisses me off to read about a company having vast amounts of cash reserves while we have >9% unemployment.
