where Matt Merry slipped up and referred to WinRT as COM and did some sweet backstroke to explain how marginally different the two were. WinDiv: We're back...and we brought our COM with us! C++ forever! Yeah! Oh, sorry I mean "use the right tool for the job."
@Ian2: Thanks Ian . I'm honored that mine was your favorite. It was of course a fun talk to give and I'm glad it had a decent turnout. Hopefully others got some good validation from it as well . Now back to checking out knockout.js for me .
It's a difficult one, I think the Jensen Harris one linked to by Bas will probably come to be a widely watched one, I also enjoyed the confidence John Sheehan showed in his talk, and being a fan of Krzysztof Cwalina, his talk was very good as well.
I still love Win 7 too much to wipe it off and install Win 8, especially since there are no commercial reasons to do so, and won't for some time, so I will await a beta.
I still have another 14 sessions to watch before I can make a decision ...
@longnightmoon: I am sure I saw another presentation with "The Moth" pre-Build showing some pretty amazing usage of GPU cores from client side apps. Not watched that one yet.
@vesuvius:Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can track it down later. Now I have my hands full playing with VS 2011 Dev Preview. But now I want to build a new desktop from scratch around the GTX 590. I'll likely settle for a GT 520, and then when I can put all the cores to work then consider the GTX560Ti, or the GTX 590 (hobby project). But I guess I'll have to look at the AMD solutions as well. Haven't had to build my own desktop in way too long.
