Has anyone sold a WP7 app yet?

I just won an ebay auction on an HTC HD7 that I intend to use as a development phone. So I was wondering: there's been a lot of talk about WP7 here on Channel9 and the app store has been open for a while now. So have any niners got an app in the store yet? Is it non-free and are you willing to say anything about sales?

It seems a little early for something like that to appear on eBay. Oh, hmm.

I don't know what the situation is in other countries, but in the UK the networks send out a lot of phones to existing customers to get them to renew fixed-term service contracts and a lot of those phones wind up on ebay unused.

I have 6 apps current in marketplace for WP7 and I know Rene Schulte, a coding4fun author, has Picture Lab as well.

Can you disclose sales figures or revenue? If not, can you at least say if it's been worth the effort?

@W3bbo: all c4f applications are free on marketplace (and open source) so total revenue to clint: 0 Smiley

For download numbers, i don't currently have them but Fake Call is ranked 80 in top free apps

@Clint: Me, I'm still waiting on GeoTrust, can't even test my app on my phone Sad

@PerfectPhase: Got cleared by GeoTrust last week, took a while though.  Just waiting until I can find the time to finish my first (and currently only) app.

I'm recording fart sounds right now... But I can't disclose (not just yet) what I'm working on... but it's going to sell like hotcakes

@Dr HerbieMadPerfectPhase: Clint is loaded and therefore spends the money on code signing certs for apps that are free.  You are creating apps to at least pay for the certs and future maintenance of the certs.  Surely.

@davewill: The cert is included in the fee to join the app hub http://create.msdn.com

Without that I can't even run an app from the dev enviroment on my phone.  You may have noticed this is not something that pleases me.  At the least it should be part of my MSDN subscrption.

I have an app, do I intend to charge for it, no, but one day I might have an idea that I will charge for.  For now it's for fun and experience.

@Dr Herbie: How long did your's take?  I'm at 18 days now Sad

@Minh: Unless your app is something special, I think you've missed that niche in the market already Smiley

I got 3 apps in the marketplace, 1 free 2 paid. Colorize which happens to have a trial mode is at position 52 in US.  So far I have no sales numbers since Microsoft is not providing the reports but I am planning on using PreEmptive Solutions's Runtime Intelligence to get more insight.

I've got a few apps up there but don't have info on sales.  I have recently added some tracking via Google Analytics but it is a bit early to see the results.  I think MS said something about letting devs know sales numbers sometime during Nov though I can't remember where I got that bit of information from ...

@PerfectPhase: Hmmm I got through the whole process in 6 hrs... if you have GeoTrust order # you might want to ping them... Although I'm in the US, and they probably already knew everything about us

@Minh:Plus if you are working on a fart app they will probably try and rush it through for you ...

@Ian2: Mine will be a Social fart app... that has facebook & twitter integration... that's probably what got me pushed through so quickly
