How about a Channel 9 xbox app?

I stumbled across the share to Xbox functionality on my surface RT after downloading an "Edge" episode.  Utterly brilliant for downloaded material

I'd be surprised if this hasn't already been suggested, but a native Xbox app or apps for Microsoft's various video content would be something I would use often.  I would rather watch content from TechNet and channel9 that is about demoing features (rather than reading code samples) on my TV than on my tablet or PC.

Alternatively (possibly better and easier) adding "play to' functionality to the Channel9 app would be great.

    Who to suggest it to?.....

I think you're going to get that with the XBox One as it may run Windows Store Apps natively or with slight modification. There's a Channel 9 app in the Windows Store right now.

If not at release of the XBox One then sometime in the near future...

If we all believed in unicorns and fairies the world would be a better place.

@gRebel:I believe we already have "Play To" functionality in the Channel 9 app... I'll have to link Xbox to laptop and try it out to make sure... will report back!

I've always thought there should be a BUILD Xbox app. Be great to be able to access all the keynotes and sessions from the comfort on my armchair. I'd vote for a full Channel 9 Xbox app too.

++ but hopefully the XBOX One will be able to run Win8 store apps anyway?

@Ian2: without touch screen TV's or mouse and keyboard, how would that even work? Kinect may work for swiping but won't be a very enjoyable experience when actually trying to click buttons.

@Bas:I Disagree, XBOX Controller/Kinect will be fine in (almost) all scenarios (and if you want to plug in a keyboard/mouse nobody will stop you)

Does the Xbox One support a keyboard and mouse? And how will the Xbox One controller be fine? Windows Store apps don't support the Xbox One controller.

@Bas:Prepared to shoot myself if it doesn't (stand by).

if the controller can move a cursor around the screen (it can) and allow selection etc (it can) then no reason why it wouldn't work (though using a hand/fingers with the new Kinect might be more fun).

@Ian2: Don't forget SmartGlass. I use that all the time on either my phone or tablet and never even pick up the controller.

    Not initially...

I'd like to, but I only really use my xbox as a media extender, and in that  context, SmartGlass is horrible.  There is no discrete way to move the cursor, so it becomes a game of chance to try and skip forward or open up a new tv show without accidentally deleting it.
