I fear windows modern UI places on xbox.

Modern UI as its core is a good term, it is timeless. However, Windows 8 Modern UI is not a good term. The reason is, it is tied to Windows, an UI system tends to last more than 10 years. But, I really hope Xbox UI refresh itself in the same bi-yearly basis. And I hope they incorporate that casual gamer tone from the original x360 UI. The Win8 Modern UI is good and all, but, I much prefer my Xbox turn on like a toy which trigger my inner child. It gets boring with all the seriousness. Loved the Green geeky UI from Xbox Original. And Xbox360 first and second UI are both really fun and joyful. I want that.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

It's not called "Windows 8 Modern UI". It's called "Microsoft design", although it's normally referred inside and outside of Microsoft as "Modern design" or even by the old name "Metro design".

Also, Xbox, Windows Phone and Windows are all migrating to be part of the same core business unit at Microsoft (Operating Systems Engineering Group).

I hope it's more customizable. I'd want to change the accent colors and have my own background like in Win8. I'm sick of the current themes and I don't want to have to buy new themes.

the current "tile pinning" sucks.   I want to be able to stick any tile I want on my home screen!

while I get that they want to have ads and make more sales I do not feel that this and having to pay for xbox live are done right. if you pay for a gold membership then you should be able to have less ad "tiles" and more ability to arrange tiles based on what you want to do.

In the One UI, there's a top level page just for stuff you pin. There also wont be ads on any of the top level sections, only within sections like music/video.

@evildictaitor: right.... So, do you have any comment regarding to the topic, now that you know what UI I was referring to?

my topic is:   it is called metro - if you think it isn't - you are too into ms Wink

metro didnt die - as a name or a construct - it is there - it just seems no one likes it. i too want to pin anything i want there... running apps bla bla - but to do so requires right mouse etc - would need to differentiate pc from phone/tablet (how hard can that be?)

ps notice youtube doesnt let you play sh** anymore from your phone?  i need a plug in to tell you tube my phone is a pc

    make one
