I just got an upgrade to my Internet connection. On paper it's supposed to be 200Mbps down and 100Mbps up. And this is what it measures as:

This was my old connection, which was supposedly 160Mbps (don't remember what the advertised up-speed was):

And the best part is, the new one is also cheaper. Big Smile

EDIT: On the plus side, where I spend most of my time Smiley :

(and I think that may be limited by their server speed since testing on different servers within London yields dramatically different results)

    Wow!

My connection is not reporting anything approaching those speeds and, allegedly, it's "Faster than 88% of all US".

    Must be nice Smiley

    @GoddersUK: 3.2?  3.2!?  I dream of 3.2!  (2.3 here).

@Dr Herbie: I blame Sven. I think he's stolen more than his fair share of the internet! Tongue Out

I get exactly what they say we're supposed to get which is rare for an ISP in Canada.

I'm not getting anything as fast as those speeds, however what is interesting in my case is that I'm getting more than double what I'm supposed to get (I'm on Comcast and according to my plan I'm paying for 12MB/sec):

This speed is also consistent. No matter when I test it, it is always > 25MB/sec.

I guess all I can say here is you are paying the folks who had a hand in destroying the tech tv cable channel and shows I used to watch .... Leo and the crew are still around but the cable channel is gone....

Comcast bought them and in no time at all they were gone.

Believe me if I had a choice I won't be using Comcast. The only other two possibilities for me are AT&T and Astound. But I found Astound doesn't service the area I moved into 6 months ago, which is about 3 miles away from where I used to live where they did provide service. AT&T does service my area but only at a paltry 3MB/sec option. So I'm stuck with Comcast for the foreseeable future.

I had a particularly bad experience with Comcast about two months ago and almost considered going to AT&T even at the much reduced speed.

I think mine is only 3 Gbps. Watching Xbox streaming videos is always stop and go every few seconds of the video.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

And I love my connection speed in Hong Kong too.

My current plan is 100MB one, can be upgraded to 1GB fibre direct-to-home at very low cost if I'd like too (the fibre is already laid right outside the building I live). And my mobile connection reach 25MB/5MB (@4G LTE, no usage limit) too.

    Yay for internet super highway!
