Awesome. So all they really do is apply a vacuum when the gripper is over the object, and then release it again when they need to release the object? Nice.
Also, research funds much better spent than these.
@GoddersUK: It's essentially just a balloon filled with coffee grounds, using a pump to move air in and out; you could build one yourself!
Shame it relies on Java.
@Dr Herbie: True. I don't currently own a robotic arm though. Time to dig out the old Lego Technic and Mechano, perhaps?
