Is it possible to consume the Windows "delete event" or replace it with an own one?

I am working on a replacement for the Windows own Trash Bin. As you know, it doesn't work on network drives and I want to solve it cheaply.

So.. I want to replace the delete entry in the right-click menu with my own one, or somehow "consume" the "delete event".

Is this possible? I know I could just add my own entry, but then there would be two delete functions there.

Following this example, perhaps you could do a similar thing to AllFileSystemObjects or one of the other Predefined Shell Objects, by replacing delete with a command like this:

    HKCR/AllFileSystemObjects/Shell/Delete/command    (Default) = myrecyclebin.exe %1
