Is the Windows 8 developer gang reading this at all?

Otherwise the endeavor here is kinda useless. Channel9 had a pretty prominent status at the Build conference (the live stream was full of it), so it's only fair if the feedback here is heard.

    I will guess they do.

there are some very Sr. Microsoft folks who do come here but you do not see them on posts.

I know for sure that some of the stuff has been read.

I expect there are a lot more people than we think reading these forums.  Otherwise, Charles does a pretty good job of notifying people about threads they need to see.

Why not use the official Windows 8 forums (as described in this post:  There are "very senior people" listening (and posting) to those forums.

  • Charles

@Larry Osterman: Agreed. It's more efficient/effective for the Windows team to have one place to keep track of and engage customer questions and feedback about their product and technologies.

And why can't the place be this place? Rather than boinking up new websites for every release, why not use just an already existing, established one?

I think Channel 9 is a relatively small and specific community and its focus is not Windows users discussions, The scale. formation and organiziation of this Coffeehouse forums is not suitable for such a mission. Personally I dont want this forum be the place, and it actually can't.

Plus, this is DevDiv I guess Tongue Out

@wastingtimewithforums: Channel 9 - the Coffeehouse specifically - is much more general purpose in nature (by design) than product-specific customer feedback forums (note that the MSDN forums have been around almost as long as the Coffeehouse...). You are of course free to post feedback/ideas/rants/raves here, but it's much more efficient and effective to share your technical/emotional Win8 feedback directly with the Windows team on their MSDN forums. You can't expect members of a product team to spend time in more than one forum, especially given how their time to do such things is so limited. Again, this is not to say you can't post stuff on C9 and product forums - that's up to you.

I know the Windows people want to hear from you and they're taking feedback in their MSDN forum (this means that's where they're spending their time in this context - not here).

As Tony Goodhew says: Don't get caught up in the tyranny of OR. Embrace the happiness of AND Smiley
