" The market momentum behind adoption of HTML5 as the path forward for broad cross-platform reach continues to gather momentum"

someone needs to parachute an emergency editor into Walid, Scott & Soma's compound! I dunno who Walid is, but I don't remember ScottGu's or even Soma's writing being that garbled most of the time.

    Silverlight for XBOX +1

(saw that in my own app, gosh it really is good for something)

These Xbox / Silverlight rumours please me greatly.

I'm also intrigued by this AppX stuff in Windows 8. Is Silverlight going to become AppX across Phone/XBox/Desktop/(Tablet??). If so, that would really rock my world.

I realise Channel9 can't go and ask these kind of questions yet, but ASAP please Big Smile

I'm really excited by the possibilites that these ideas open up, please don't disappoint me Microsoft.

@Michael Butler:Actually, they can and should be asking these questions (but not posting the videos). Usually they've got a few videos already done and set for release during the keynote.

@kettch : Good point. I hope they've got lots of videos on the subject being readied. Of course, I could be reading too much into rumours and speculation.

I now have a vision in my head of where I'd like Microsoft to take XAML/Silverlight/WPF/AppX/XBox/ and the potential excites me. I just hope what I'd like is not too far off the actual plans. (I'm a bit of a dreamer at heart)

@Michael Butler:I went to PDC last year hoping for a Tablet & asscoiated marketplace (ever the optimist).

I'm sure that WP7/XBOX/Tablet/Desktop integration is a goal for XNA and Silverlight (as well as boring old HTML5).

XBOX would be a great next step, not expecting Tablet till next year really (rumours of September this year abound though - maybe just for the PDC?)

Mix keynote text mentions new Zune devices?

I'm intrigued by "...and many more, including 13 sessions of content just on the upcoming application platform"

     (found here)

    Interesting:

April 12th MIX Keynote "Major WP7 Announcement?"

April 12th HTC product announcement event in London (http://cot.ag/eZqiqo)

April 12th NOKIA / Symbian event "Discover what's new with Symbian Smartphones"

Could all just be coincidence of course.

I have also noticed that there are a lot of sessions on WP7 that are labelled 'TBA'.  I started to wonder whether this was just because someone wasn't completely organised, or if they weren't announcing them because they're keeping something interesing under wraps.

Well this thread got me even more excited for MIX next week. Also Clint from Coding4Fun is working on a 'keynote project' and it made me guess maybe they are extending their Tshirt cannon from last year with a Kinect!

Some Nokia Announcements and/or new hardware for WP7 shown of would be totally unexpected and totally awesome!

    alright, 1 hour to go!

last minute predictions? im gonna throw in an annoucement of .net 4.5 and hopefully a better interop story between wpf and SL(5)

really, the .net runtime is able to load silverlight assemblies already so i dont get why they just dont compile the SL bcl agasint .net4 and release that as a external .net library.. or something.. SL is supposed to be a subset dangnabbit

@aL_: yes, as I have said before http://channel9.msdn.com/Forums/Coffeehouse/So-whats-the-difference-between-CoreCLR-and-Desktop-CLR-again-

the Desktop CLR and CoreCLR is getting REALLY similiar now, and .NET update KB2468871 is getting one more step closer on this, there should be only 1 CLR for v5

    ask this for me Smiley
