@blowdart: Odd for sure.  I opened Windows Azure and Channel 9 and logged into both.  Then I open bing (still see it is logged in) and click sign out for Microsoft account.  Windows Azure and Channel 9 BOTH are now no longer logged in.  Yet Bing is still.

I've had this problem before on Chrome - sometimes in-use cookies don't die even when you tell it to clear them:

    1. Clear your cookies

    2. Close your browser

    3. Open your browser, clear your cookies again to hit any session cookies that might have got abnormally written to disk during the browser close last time

    4. Close your browser

    5. Open your browser and see if you're still logged in.

@evildictaitor: Interesting.  Those steps did not work at first.  However, once bing.com was removed from the startup home page tab the steps did work.

Ah! Top check box is "Preserve favourites website data". Which is checked by default.

@blowdart: so are cookies for favourite websites stored somewhere other than "temporary internet files"?  Asking because I deleted everything in that directory in attempts prior to evil's steps.

Ah that's it ... Favorites and home pages are playing by different rules.
