this would make about as much sense as splitting Microsoft into consumer and enterprise companies, i.e. none. although they apparently really did try to buy Yahoo which made no sense either, so who knows.
Too expensive, too much duplication and I don't see it helping them make big marketshare gains in mobile & cloud. I do see them entering into some sort of partnership around TV & cloud.
If they think they can make money from the deal without changing anything at or about Adobe (ie no changes to products, branding or staff) then it makes sense. If savings would have to come from consolidation then I'm not so sure it is a good idea. (But then I'm not the head of a multi-national conglomerate myself).
As a consumer, why would I like LESS competition in any space?
