Hi guys, we appreciate your feedback. The ch9 team is working on new exciting features for you!

As for the forums, we are thinking to switch the conversations to Reddit completely and will be shutting down the forums in the upcoming months.

Keep your feedback coming! we love them!

    WTF ?

ok so you are saying the end is here....

"As for the forums, we are thinking to switch the conversations to Reddit completely and will be shutting down the forums in the upcoming months."

so no more C9  .....  you might as well just give the new site a new name and be done with it.

do you even know why the site is named CHANNEL 9 ???

if the PM is going to nuke the forum  then  this whole thing is a loss for many of us who have been here for a very long time.

there is plenty of good software out there that you could use to run a C9 forum on the C9 web site that would enable the re-building of the C9 comunity.

but if Microsoft is not interested in doing that then good bye to all the long time folks who still remain around.....

Microsoft had a great site here at one time, too bad that no one at Microsoft gives a damm about maintaining and growing it.

Channel 9 team. You have misunderstood the the reason why this website exists and why you have a job.

Where else on the internet can I go to have a technical conversation with Microsoft employees about Microsoft technology.
Where else on the internet can a Microsoft Employee go and have a free conversation with your customers about Microsoft technology.
Where else on the internet can i find video where the guys that writes the actually code I use every day, show me that very code?

Where? Please give me the URL

As other has said in this tread. Have you forgotten why this site was created in the first place?

Let me read out the first paragraph from your "Channel 9 Doctrine" (https://channel9.msdn.com/About):

    1. Channel 9 is all about the conversation. Channel 9 should inspire Microsoft and our customers to talk in an honest and human voice. Channel 9 is not a marketing tool, not a PR tool, not a lead generation tool.

    And from you history page:
... These videos were a bold look inside Microsoft at a time when other companies were considering restrictions on employee blogging and disclosure. But these were the real conversations we would have with each other in the hallways and across the campus and we thought they were important to share with you.

Let me repeat your own words: Channel 9 is all about the conversation
Let me repeat your own words: Channel 9 is all about the conversation
Let me repeat your own words: Channel 9 is all about the conversation

Channel 9 team. It is for things like this you have a job.

    From: https://channel9.msdn.com/Blogs/Seth-Juarez/Anders-Hejlsberg-on-Modern-Compiler-Construction

    Quote:

one day in the lunch room in building 25 I happened to have a chat with the great Anders Hejlsberg about compilers (yeah, it was pretty cool). One thing he mentioned (in passing I might add) was that there is a huge gap between the way compilers are taught in school and the way compilers are implemented nowadays. I mentioned (again in passing) that we should do a whiteboard on the the topic for Channel 9. He agreed!

    ....

Many years ago when the boss decided to create Channel9 it was because he wanted Microsoft to be the type of open company that had a strong solid honest connection with its customers and Charles and Seth embraced that by creating video like this one. Just check you own about page for the details.

You don't want to be that company any more? You want to be more like oracle, apple, SAP or IBM where nobody gets to know anything except for press releases?
