    Outlook.com has started serving me the mobile site whenever I browse to it in Firefox on my college's computers Perplexed I have no idea why and there's no way to make it go to the full version (I've never observed this behaviour on any other site Perplexed)

    EDIT: Screenshot:

    Also interesting to note that the favicon is wrong, I wonder if that's related. This issue is being a pain to diagnose though - we have two networks on our campus, the antiquated one in the screenshot above where the issue is present in both FF 3.5.3 and IE 6 SP1 (running on Win Server 2K SP4) and (iirc) it was occurring in a newer version of FF (possibly 4) but not IE (either version 7 or 8, I'm not sure off hand) on XP Pro SP3 on the other network. It doesn't occur at all on the non-centrally-managed PCs in the offices. Any suggestions gratefully received.

    EDIT: Have reported via Outlook.com's feedback form.

    Wow, the death of Hotmail... Never thought I'd see the day. Outlook.com looks much better.

    I agree, I thought I'd never see the day that Hotmail went away.  But boy, do I like the new UI for Outlook.com!

    Can anyone find features that weren't already in Hotmail? I can't.

    Jumplist/app pinning support (was there in Hotmail? don't remember) as someone already mentioned.

    @spivonious:

    Mainly I think the current preview is just the new UI. So the changes are things like the new messaging window down the side, lack of traditional ads, tighter social networking integration.

    I think the following features present in Outlook are new, but I could be wrong:

    Other actual new features (e.g. Skype integration) will come at a later date.

    LiveSide are also reporting that they're foregoing deltasync for exchange active sync, but I think they may just be confused since I think EAS is only for mobile devices (and already supported by Hotmail?)?

    Yep, that was already there.

    Yes, if you log into outlook.com with a hotmail account you get to use the new preview for what was previously hotmail.

    Prior to that (in fact it currently does this also) it was used as the login page for Live@Edu email ("Outlook Web App").

    Barring cutting features, the easiest way to obtain a deliciously uncluttered UI is to hide as many as possible. I like minimalism and Metro, but I suspect it will be some time before we see it used right.

    Agreed. I just assumed it wasn't in the beta until I happened to mouse over it and see the dropdown arrow.

    I REALLY hate when features are hidden in an attempt to make things look simpler.
    It's the same with the stuff that pops up in Win8 only when you accidentally hover over them.
