    Mary Jo Foley has a short write up about CalDAV over on ZDNet.

    On a somewhat related note, a side-project I'm building (note to my employers: when I'm at home after 8PM, so it's not yours!) features a calendaring system and I'm adding support for CalDAV so the system's users can get native calendaring on their phones - I'm glad to see Windows Phone finally support this. It just sucks that there's no standard for Push with Card+CalDAV and you have to use polling... or that desktop Outlook doesn't support CalDAV either, nor do the Windows 8 Mail/Calendar/Contacts apps.

    You start work at noon right?

    @PopeDai: The blog post says they WILL NOT be adding CalDav or CardDav. The current state of affairs is confusing, but I gave up on Gmail back then anyway. The reversal of arguments regarding CalDav and open vs. closed makes me see red, but I could really care less about CalDav support or even Gmail support now.

    I still like a lot of Google services, but they are making it harder and harder to not be anti-Google.

    I did a 16-hour workday yesterday. If they find my body it's because I overdosed on coffee.

    An official blog post from late January says they will: ( http://blogs.windows.com/windows_phone/b/windowsphone/archive/2013/01/30/synching-google-services-with-windows-phone.aspx ) and I can't see anything in Mary Jo's article that contradicts that.

    Note that I'm talking about "pure" CalDAV and CardDAV, not Google's implementation.

    i'm very bummed. i link pulse newsreader to my google reader account and it's the best reading experience i've found for ipad and iphone. the fact that you can just subscribe anywhere to an rss feed and have it show up in pulse was a great feature. i wonder if the linkedin buyout of pulse had anything to do with the kill decision.

    @wkempf:

    It gets worse.

    With their various recent high profile AI/ML hires and their increased corporate interest in deep learning, I think Google is making a concerted and deliberate effort to build Skynet. They wish to doom us all.

    I for one welcome our new Google overlords. Angel Angel

    That's harsh.
