    Just saw episode #17 from Inside Windows Phone about Search Extra. Cool feature!

    Is this functionality currently available? Does it only work in US?

    I currently have the latest IMDB app, but it doesn't seem to make it available. What do I need to do to enable it?

    I have a Samsung Focus with OS version 7.10.8107.79

    Doesn't even know I have this feature, but, it works for me, I am in California USA. The feature is very very very hard to access. I have to search term "Movies" exactly that in Bing and press the first Result (which doesn't look like I can press it as well). Then, the Extra is one of the tab.

    The first thing I do is, Type "Cold Mountain", as this is the intuition for me to search a movie. IMDB app is the only app that will automatically show up as part of the Bing result. There is no way to access extra from this path.

    My thought is, don't think about it too much. No one is using it. And it will eventually be removed after the statistics showed no one uses it. It is one of those feature that is intentionally hidden (badly named or very hard to find), downplayed, and removed.

    Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

    Always wondered what happened to that feature.

    Hmm, I search for movies and I just get normal web results.

    It looks like it can't find my location right now. It must need that to do the extras.

    Search Extras appears to be invoked through the search results themselves. When I search on "movies", I get a list at the top with star ratings. When I click on that, Bing takes me to a more detailed list of those movies. When I click one of those, it goes to the "card" for the movie which comes up in a pivot form. One of the "pivots" is "Apps" from which I can bring up deep-linked apps like IMDb.

    If I search on "books", there is no list at the top with star ratings.

    So the problem is not with Windows Phone and how Bing is integrated into it. The problem is with Bing itself just having really sparse data.

    I noticed that the location of the link for the "product card" varies in the search results depending on what you're searching for. Sometimes it appears above the regular web results, and other times it appears below the web results. I suppose it could be based on relevancy as determined by Bing's search engine.

    @magicalclick: The product card for "Cold Mountain" appears below the web search results. Because the "product" in this case is the DVD rather than the movie itself, apps like eBay show up rather than IMDb.

    @cbae:

    I see. So, it is about the product card, which is the first time I have heard of.

    Anyway, this is not the case with "Real Steel", which IMDB is the top result with Product Card below Web results. "Cold Mountain" gets a Bing Map as the top result. Understandable.

    Anyway, I would ignore Product Card feature for now. It will be removed due to lack of usage based on statistics. Using it now, will only make you feel like you lose something when they remove it. It doesn't matter you think the feature is important to you, and it doesn't matter you think the feature can be so much more if it has proper exposures, you can't beat statistics.
