@DeathByVisualStudio: the various charms not being available to destop applictions is one of the main problems I have with W8. I realise that it could be confusing with desktop application designs (how do you use the search charm when an application already has its own search functionality, like many desktop apps do but metro apps are discouraged to do?), but I've often found myself wanting to share stuff to desktop applications from a metro app or vice versa, and it's a shame we're unable to.

The same thing, in my opinion, goes for syncing of settings and data, and live tiles. These are really great additions to Windows and I'd want to see them become available to all applications that run on Windows 8. We'll see what happens with Windows 9 or whatever is coming next with the rumored yearly release schedule.
