    Interesting to see that some people find that ClearType works well for them, and others don't. That probably means that it's still a valid technology. It just needs more customization options, ranging from the stuff in the tuner tool all the way to the grayscale variation used in Windows 8, as well as just plain off. They also need to respect those settings across every character that can possibly be rendered in Windows (where reasonable).
