@Dr Herbie: There needs to be a feature whereby Mods can ban and delete all threads by a user. At the moment this fight is too symmetric - it's just as much effort for us to remove the threads as it is for them to post them.
If we can delete all of their threads and ban the user, then suddenly it's much more effort for them to spam the forums - particularly since you can't script creating live-accounts because of the captchas.
Post throttling will get rid of most of the problem anyway. I think that's the better option, since it prevents the spam from getting posted in such large numbers in the first place.
@evildictaitor: Obliterating an account and all of its posts, in one step, should be a boon for mods. Combined with post throttling, so you can catch them before they have posted 99 pages, and you might start to get the upper hand.
