    Will it fully support C++11?

    Can I install the Windows Phone 7 (7.1/7.5) software development tools with this on the next Windows 8 version update at the end of this month (consumer preview)?

     If this is mentioned in Herb's keynote, I'm afraid I am having trouble making room to download videos lately due to the high prices of hard drives lately. But I will give Herb's keynote a priority now.

    I'm developing on Windows 8 dev preview with VS 2010.
    Everything works accept emulator.

    I don't belive there will be support for VS11 anytime soon but they still can suprise us.

    I seem to recall that I could not install the Phone tools. I don't need the emulator as I can use a real phone, and I also develop using Test Driven Devolopment and I can run or step through my code without the emulator or the phone for most of my code so far (until I need to use the graphics of course).

    I have Windows 8 and VS 11 on my computer now, but I rarely boot into it specificaly because I can't do the phone stuff. And also because I can't record TV, as there is no Media Centre. Looking forward to a look at the media stuff in Windows 8 consumer preview.

    Edit 01: I'm going to check what I do have installed.

    Edit 02: I do have the phone tools installed. I remember now, I didn't have a successful install until I prevented the emulator to install.

    @DeathByVisualStudio: Seriously, why do you bother - you come to a Microsoft site seemingly just to diss on Microsoft stuff. At the very least, keep an open mind until you actually use the product, instead of hating it because it's not exactly how you would like it to be...

    Now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go hang out on the Apple forums so I can educate everyone over there on how much OS X sucks....  Wink

    @OrigamiCar:

    Apparently you don't read all of my posts. I already answered that question just a few days ago.

    Besides I do post some positive things about Microsoft when IMO they do something right. If Microsoft did more things right I'd have more good things to discuss. Think about it.

    If we all believed in unicorns and fairies the world would be a better place.

    Is this Windows8+VS2011 a time-driven release or a quality-driven release? Not, that it matters. Also, it would be nice, this time around, to include a tool to put the ISO on to a thumb drive.

    Looking forward to it. Like the new layout and the search features.

    @felix: It's one of those things that aren't quite as novel as it is useful; something everybody and his dog wanted and now it's here.

    @felix9: As a matter of fact, it looks a lot like the Quick Access dialog from the VS Productivity Power Tools.

    @felix9: Nice find, Felix! I really enjoy Somasegar running though his talking points. He doesn't blather on about this or that, it's strait to the point. He also does't give crapy demos, a plus in my book.

    So I'm wondering, will the 29th be the single biggest mass download event in history?  I'd love to know how many petabytes are going to be downloaded in the first 24 hours Smiley

    @PerfectPhase: Good question. I suspect datacenters around the world will be generating a fair amount of heat energy on Leap Day!
