@felix9: Out of intreast, anyone know what's being used to write the device drivers for the ARM version?
my guess is that the ARM OEM's have an NDA with Microsoft and some tools for that....
No, Windows 8 will probably be out October 2012(this year) or so. You could thus assume that VS2012 would be out before then. Would be silly to have the development tools out before the OS, especially since you can't do Windows 8 apps using VS2010.
@Harlequin: Don't you mean "NOT to have development tools out before the OS"?
I think we'll see the final VS2012 ship with Windows 8 in October. Since the beta has a "go live" license, I doubt we'll see any API changes between then and October.
The success of Windows 8 heavily depends on the app store.
