Win 8 part of Win 10 Home ?

I upgraded my PC Windows 7 Home OS to Windows 10 Home which is activated. When I created an iso with the MediaCreationToolx64 and burned it to a blank DVD ImgBurn noted that my OS had changed and was now Windows 8 core. When Belarc Advisor scanned my PC it reported: Operating System Windows 8 (x64) installed 7/29/2015.

Why don't these programs read the OS as Windows 10 ?

Because 99% of software has a cheese sandwich instead of proper version checking.

depends on how the programs are detecting the OS and Version.

they may need to be updated to show it right.

also many apps and installed have bad version detection code and to try and keep apps working Microsoft started to do some "funny stuff" with what version of windows app app sees.

It is not as bad as most websites (ATT included) detecting IE11 as IE6 in the first few months IE11 came out. Utterly crap.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

Belarc: did you download the new version or run an old one ?

I just ran the current build and it shows windows 10 as my os.

Thanks--I didn't have the most current iteration and although it updated definitions the outcome was false. I updated and now Belarc reads the OS as Windows 10 Home. I couldn't find an update for ImgBurn, but in any case the OS was noted only the first time I used it on Windows 10.

@jmar: On Win10, right click on your ISO and you should be able to see option to burn the image to disc. No additional software is needed
