Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 Channel 9 app

    As many of you know, I've a Windows Phone 7 application for Channel 9 availible in the marketplace. I need to bite the bullet and start with a Windows 8 and a Windows Phone 8 version.

    My idea is to make the new versions more community like. With a personalized news feed depending on the "likes" you give shows and certain episodes.

    This is a huge undertaking and I'm quite frankly not up to the task solo. So I will be starting a new codeplex project for a WP7, WP8 and WIN8 version. The backend will still be Azure. I'm thinking of moving away from WCF DataServices to MVC 4 WebAPI.

    My question to the community is;

    Who wants to join?

    @Maddus Mattus: is having a WP8 phone a requirement? If not, I'll gladly help.

    @Blue Ink: Nice!

    nope, only requirement is a Windows 8 machine with Visual Studio

    I'll set up a codeplex project and start inviting people.

    Then I'll make a project plan, technical design and start feeding codeplex the workitems.

    I'm up for some help with the W8 version.

    Edit: provided it's in XAML/C#. I'm not touching HTML or javascript.

    I'd like to but I am really tight on time lately.  Hopefully after Dec. 15thish ... release coming ... then we're shut down over the holidays, so if I can find time then, I'd be happy to work on it.

    MVC 4 WebAPI.   <= that's not XAML... MVC 4 is ASP.NET of course... with javascript...

    @JohnAskew: I would assume he meant to use that for the server side of things.

    @Bas: indeed

    I don't want a feedreader, I want a lean mean notification machine!

    Odata (wcf ds) is heavily dependent on SQL server (out of the box) and I want to use table storage, so web API seems the way to go.

    I'll start filling a wiki or discussion with features and lets see what's what.

    I'd love to help, but how are we dealing with payments? Can you wire from the Netherlands to the US?

    I'd like to gain some experience with MVC4 Web API. Can I just hang around the Codeplex and do tiny things?

    @PaoloM: there's payments involved? Now I'm definitely helping. Tongue Out

    @PaoloM: you get paid in thank you notes.

    @ZippyV: it's easy, I'll put you down as a backend developer

    @MasterPie: awesome! I'll post the link to the codeplex project and make some openings there

    @Bas: what is your going rate of thank you notes per hour? I'll double it!

    @Maddus Mattus: I've searched codeplex for "Channel 9 Apps" and get no returns.  Am I being too literal?
