I was planning the same thing. But the question in my mind is, so why not build a whs box anyway? It will still work next year exactly as it does now. All of the features that I find appealing right now will still be there in 5 years.

Obviously there will be minimal 3rd party support, but that is not what I am buying it for. I am attracted to whs simply for what is in the box, today.

The only potential negative would be support for security related updates. I haven't had time to look into that yet. Does anyone have any insight as to how long whs 2011 will be supported?

What would be the negatives of building a whs 2011 box today and expect to run it for 5 years?
