    Waiting for Linux client...

As a relevant aside: how come none of the WP7 phones come with docks/cradles so you can just slot them in and forget about them, and keep them upright so you can see your calendar and other details from your desk.

I don't fancy fiddling with USB cables for sync and power.

I thought they all synced wirelessly?

I don't fancy transfering 8GB of music over my data plan, and not everyone has Wi-Fi, nor an Exchange-like email provider. Many people still use the standalone Outlook / Desktop ActiveSync approach.

@W3bbo: I suspect the overwhelming evidence is that people don't want them. Most people seem to get on fine with just using a USB cable if needed.

But the iPhone has a dock, and as did pretty much every Windows Mobile device/phone prior to WM6.

For the mass-transfer of music (which can take ages) we had the option of taking out the storage card and loading it into our computers for fast copying that way, but with WP7's new 'combined' storage model that isn't an option.

I think I'll wait for USB3-compliant devices first, or get an iPhone then.

they only synch wirelessly over wifi IIRC...and you know the accessories will come out... those are high-margin stuff

@Minh: Yes, it will only sync wirelessly over WiFi, only over a single SSID, the phone must have been connected to a charger for at least 10 minutes.  Not sure if you need the Zune client running or not on the PC.

@W3bbo:  Don't forget that most of these WP7 devices only have 8 or 16Gb of storage Sad  That means the sync very quickly.  Actually they sync a lot faster than my iPhone 3G ever did.

@PerfectPhase:Paul Thurrott was saying the Samsung Focus is expandable to 8 (built-in) +32 (SD) = 40 GB
