you have ONE app in the jamie store.

I actually find many of the Nokia apps to be useful (search the store for Nokia)

I think this may be where WP will benefit from the Nokia take-over - Nokia know the apps phone users want (they've been complaining about missing core apps for a long time) and now that they are part of MS, they may be able to implement these into WP where MS would have ignored them.

I think that if you have Office365 active on the phone, you can use OneNote as a voice recorder ?

FYI, I don't have Office 365, but my OneNote on Lumia 920 allow me to do voice recording too.

The best thing for this is that, you can write down your notes or transcript at the side of your recording.

    Wholeheartly agreed.

It seems like 80+% of best quality apps for WP8 are made by Nokia.

Or use the video recorder and extract the audio later?

Most of the apps I use on Windows Phone are pretty good. These include Kindle, the mobile banking app for my bank (ING in the Netherlands), Facebook, NOS (Dutch news), Bing Weather, Rain Alarm, Skype, WhatsApp, and Twitter.

@jamie: there are voice recording app with lack of SkyDrive integration. I had it on my HTC Surround, but, it lacked the ability to transfer my recording to other devices when I retire my old phone. I specifically download the SkyDrive friendly version on my Lumia 920.

Leaving WM on 5/2018 if no apps, no dedicated billboards where I drive, no Store name.

    • Pandora

Pandora for WP exists. IIRC, Lumia 920 owners get 1 year ad-free streaming.

    @jinx101: Yeah, it's WP8. I don't think 7.5 supports background music.

@MasterPi: Last.FM uses background audio in Mango.

I disagree about the Facebook app which is awful

The one on WP8 is completely different. It has pretty much the same UI as the Facebook apps on Android and iPhone (which I'm not a huge fan of because it doesn't fit in with the OS all that great, but it is functional). It is slow on occasion, but my only real complaint about it is that quite often it just doesn't seem to get push notifications.

Some other nice apps (though very localized in usefulness) are UK Trains, London Travel, thetrainline.com, and for the Dutchies 9292ov and weerplaza.nl. Smiley

    Apps that suck:

    • Alarm - Sometimes it goes off, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes it goes off 4 minutes after it's supposed to, sometimes it goes off 10 minutes after it's supposed to, sometimes it goes off on time.  It's usually at least 1 minute late.  I don't know whether this is a software problem or a hardware problem.

Nokia 920: I have multiple alarms set, used on a daily basis. The only time they haven't activated precisely as set, is when the battery has run dead - which, unfortunately, happens too often.

@elmer: Oddly enough, since AT&T turned on LTE, my battery is lasting longer.

My alarms have never failed me either.

i just find it funny everyone goes:

"well - the 2% of users that actually have a winphone - love it - but there are no apps.

Oh my gosh!  there are no apps for MICROSOFT's  -  WINDOWS - phone!   what ever shall we do!!

Who on EARTH do we know - that can write APPS!  i mean - they MUST be hard to write.... you would need to be... like a.... GLOBAL SOFTWARE CONGLOMERATE WITH OVER 100 THOUSAND EMPLOYEES - to combat the fact you have no apps....

if ONLY ...there was some BIG software company - that could make some STUPID LITTLE APPS THAT WORK PERFECTLY...

    hmmm.....

@jamie:As was said earlier, MS just bought themselves a little company which has proven to be quite good at creating useful apps for WP - Nokia.
