You should be more trusting: true, the pages look way too tidy for a social network; the pictures look professional and look good together. But don't let this fool you: it's just the work of dedicated and knowledgeable fans that want their passion to look good.
@wkempf: I think with facebook authentication they can request information from Facebook, no?
OpenID rules, though!
You can with OpenID too, that's what attribute exchange and simple registration flows are for.
Except my OpenID provider has very little information about me to give away (compared to Facebook, at least).
