I have tried both the Silverlight player as well as the HTML 5 player with no luck.
I can view videos fine in Chrome
No longer working on my Surface 2 with 8.1 and IE11 either, in any format. Every other site is working though, it's just channel 9. It's a fresh OS install too. Seems to have been this way for a few days at least now.
Sorry you're having trouble! Can you give me an example of a video that is not working and what happens when you try? I just tried all of the videos on the home page from my Surface RT and they play in IE 11 using HTML5 and Flash. Silverlight of course won't work on the RT but I tried it from a different 8.1 machine with Desktop IE 11 and all of the homepage videos played fine in Silverlight. It might just be a few specific videos so an example would probably help me to find the problem.
I made a list of not working and working ones, first the not working:
The fact that two of the new what's new series consistently don't work looks very interesting.
This is with the modern browser, on a surface 2, recently refreshed, all updates installed, and the working / not working status of the videos is consistent across multiple tries. I am in the UK if that affects where the content is streamed from.
I have the same problem. None of the videos is working under IE11 on Windows 8,1, I see the video snapshot, I see the controls, like play and volume, I can also go in full screen but the video is not starting. In Firefox works fine, but there I see other video player controls. What could I do?
I have the problem ever since the update to 8.1
