I know there will be shuttles running pretty much continuously between the hotels and the conference centers. I wanting to know:

    1. Do the shuttles run on Sunday?

    2. What is the operating time each day?

I'm trying to get an idea of when I am taking the shuttles and when I'm going the taxi route.

Shuttles will run on Sunday from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. I will try to get the rest of the days as we get closer to the event, but expect them to run continuous during the Conference Open times, later on the Monday due to the reception again later to/from the attendee party on Thursday..

Do the shuttles run to all the hotels that can be booked through the TechEd registration process or only some of them? Is there a resource available listing the routes along with the schedules?

@KBinSC, in some cases, where there are two or more hotels close to one another, they may only have one stop between them.  Apart from that, all conference hotels, except for the ones in walking distance will be on a shuttle route.

The conference guide will have the routes and the routes should be on the website probably no later than a week before.  Also, on Sunday and Monday, all of the stops are usually manned by staff to provide assistance and information about the shuttles.

Question.  I am booked at a non-conference hotel (what I get to registering late).  The closest conference hotel is the Crowne Plaza Galleria.  I'm not keen on driving into downtown Houston everyone morning, so would I be able to get away with parking at the Crowne Plaza and just taking their shuttle to the conference?

You can take the shuttle with no issues.  Don't know about parking in that hotels lot though.

@ccavazos:not sure how far it is, but I would walk to the Crowne Plaza. Many of these places will charge for parking or tow you. You could call the Crowne Plaza ahead of time and speak with a manager.

I am staying at Hilton America's across from the convention center Saturday night. However, from Sunday through the rest of the event, I'm staying in the Westin Oaks in the Galleria district which is on the shuttle route. Will I be able to hop on the shuttle bus after registration Sunday from the convention center to take me back to Westin Oaks? I would think so but the caveat is that I will have my luggage with me. I'd like to avoid a taxi if possible.

@jayl15: I would think that it won't be an issue if you don't have a lot of bags.

Just as a follow-up, some people come in from the airports to the convention center, so it's not unusual for some people bringing bags with them.  Also, some people leave from the convention center as well.

Also, if you have to check out of your hotel, but you need to hang around the convention center, there is a bag check area that you can store your bags at.  I'm not sure if there's a cost involved, but it's an option, especially if you're attending pre-confs.

@CAReed: thanks again. I was in NOLA last year, but didn't have to deal with the 2 hotel situation.

@jsnow: any update on the shuttle schedules?

@DMoser, go to the Register on the TechEd website.  On the left side, select Travel and then scroll down and you will see the shuttle schedule.

In short, the shuttles will run from 6:45 AM to 9:15 PM Monday through Thursday from convention center to hotels, plus the buses will run from 7:15 PM to 11:45 PM from hotels to Minute Maid Park.

Will there be shuttle service from the hotels to the Management Soiree on Tuesday night?

@mferreira42, unless the organizers have arranged something, I would not count on it.
