@Ladewig:Thanks for the tip, Scott. I plan to bring a collapseable bag with me and try to travel as light as I can on my way down to NOLA. I'll probably end up using the shipping center for some stuff, but we'll see how it goes.
You'll also want to follow @MSLearning to find out about offers and learning resources such as onsite testing, exam prep sessions, study hall, hands-on lab, etc.
Another good tip is getting power items like a small power strip that can convert one plug to 3-4. I have a Belkin one that takes a plug from 1 to 3 plus 2 USB plugs. I made many friends in 2011 and 2012 with that. Another power item for phones and tablets that charge off USB is portable USB rechargers. With the help of @mke077 and @michaelbender, we tested 3 at last TechEd. I will get a post up on our reviews.
I plan to bring along a little 4-plug power strip I'm getting that also includes USB connections. Another benefit I'm happy to share, as needed/possible, is a phone with wifi hotspot capability and an unlimited data plan.
How about - make sure your kidneys are in good order...?
@jshoq:I have the Belkin power strip you are referring to. I never leave home without it while traveling! Thing to keep in mind about that mini power strip is that the output on the USB is not powerful enough to charge most tablets. It is better suited for phones. Still, it is quite the handy accessory!
@Scottee25 Thanks, good to know. I also have a couple of the small 'block' Samsung USB adapters and a 5000mAh external battery. This may well be my first, hopefully not last, TechEd but I plan to be prepared.
