Anyone know what kind of test to get into the party Melissa was talking about?
To go to the MCP party, you either need to show your MCID to demonstrate that you are an MCP. Otherwise, if you pass a cert exam before the party, they will give you a pass.
I thought I heard her say MCP card AND test...
The MCP card verifies that you've already taken the test....
I know this is a litte date but..Does a Windows XP Certification Count.
So we can just print out transcripts from the MCP site? And I feel Windows XP Cert shall now and forever count.
@kconway, it never hurts to ask....
I got a card when I passed Windows NT test, so I would assume XP would count.
They never updated my card when I passed other tests.
I listened again and I think she said take a test and you can go.
Yes, if you take a test and pass, you can go, if you do either Sunday or Monday, since it is Monday night.
If only they still had wallet cards.. Guess I will have to dig around for my old one
Actually, they do have wallet cards; you only have to pay for them now.
Where will this party be held? I'm a MCP. :)
Somewhere in the Microsoft area, likely where the Microsoft Learning folks will be, there will be handing out passes for the MCP party, Certification Nation Celebration. As to where, I don't remember, but I believe that you need to get the pass at the convention center.
One of the countdown videos said you can print a temporary wallet card off of the wallet card order site and that will be fine. I went ahead and ordered a new copy of mine anyway.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know how to change the LIVE account that is associated with your MCP number? I had trouble finding my number at first because I used a different account back then.
@rhupf, you may need to talk to someone at your Microsoft Regional Service Center (RSC).
We'll have more details as we get closer to the date.
If you're not yet an MCP, passing an exam on Sunday or Monday would get you into the party.
Now, if your last cert was on an OLD technology, you are technically an MCP and would qualify for a party pass, but I will have to give you a hard time about it. ;)
