Now that I'm registered, I want nto make some suggestions regarding New orleans, based my last attendance there:
1. The New Orleans breakfasts were execrable. Hope this time is different.
2. One morning committed to keynotes is enough!! Few people come to Tech-Ed principally for the keynotes, and last year's investment of mornings on _two_ days to keynotes was overkill. This is especially true since the conference has shrunk dramatically in the past few years. Do not give a larger piece of a shrinking pie to keynotes. They are not why we come to tech-Ed. Perhaps separate IT Pro and developer keynotes could run in parallel.
3. A couple of years back, on Sunday evening there were a couple of presentations of long-term trends germane to our career planning. These were great and I'd like to see something similar.
4. It would be interesting to see a Birds of a Feather session on Ageism in IT. This doesn't affect me (yet), but for all of us this concern is inevitable.
I thought the food was ok. All your other points I agree with. I haven't seen those Sunday sessions in a while. It could be a speaker issue. Hopefully Microsoft will listen to you
I agree with Vecna about the breakfast food. After trying it for 2 days I ended up eating breakfast at the hotel the rest of the week. Lunch was fine and the Thursday evening food was also good but breakfast was just plain bad.
@Wolverine24:What kind of items did they offer for breakfast? Breakfast is my favorite meal so I like to get a nice hot breakfast. If the food is bad, I may have to opt to eat elsewhere, but I'll need a good justification to get my manager to approve that considering that I could have eaten for free at the conference.
NOLA 2010 Breakies kinda sucked huge. Usually they were bleh bagels n stuff. I too ended up eating at the hotel before heading over to the Conv. Ctr. I didn't mind the lunches though. I hope they improve the breakie this time around.
@nothatsyou:So were they more of a cold continental breakfast rather than a warm breakfast? I need eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffles, french toast, and BACON! Am I going to be disappointed?
@Scottee25: I think I only ate breaky at the conv ctr twice and at that point I decided I would just eat at my hotel. If i recall, all other TechEd's I've been to they've offered a mix of hot n cold choices. Usually, it's not so bad in the morning just in 2010 it wasn't my favourite.
If there is no bacon maybe we can ride in on this
And force the breakfast people cook bacon by pointing this at them...
