rumors, news or links? anyone in the know? I searched, but didn't see anything.  I thought last year was cool with Drew Brees showing up, but everythng else was pretty lame for the most part<<<this coming from a big football fan too. The food was also something I could have went without...I mean, your in New Orleans, the food should be awesome!

    This was my 3rd Tech-Ed...

I believe the Closing Parties are unique to each location and has it's own spin to give it flavors and excitement for the local area.  I didn't think the Closing Party in NOLA was bad or lacked funfare.  The marching band greeting, Drew Brees, Tina Turner, the great bands, free booze, and plenty of food to fill ya belly. Sure it wasn't filet minion or steaks but with all of us there, I wasn't expecting more than finger foods.  I think the highlight for me was hanging out with many newly formed friends who I had met and bonded with during the week.

I'm actually amazed that Microsoft was able to pull off a party of that size and at that venue.  The behind the scenes planning and logistics work is unimaginable.  All we had to do was show up!

@Famousaj:We won't know for a while. Too early as of yet. Plenty of time to speculate about where it'll be, however. I don't know Houston well enough to know what venues would be appropriate.

The Astros have May 15th off, so Minute Maid Field would be available, although not sure they can setup/breakdown with games on the 14th and 16th. Reliant Stadium and the Toyota Center are other large venues. Curious what other places might be candidates for the Thursday party.

Houston Space Center could be a possibility but you just never know. Smiley

I think Harjit makes a good guess as that would be the most interesting and large enough place to hold a TechEd party.  I just hope wherever they hold it, its in-doors because it could be mighty hot down there in May and its also their rainiest month (humidity).

If it's at Minute Maid I hope we get to meet Jose Altuve...

@DaveVernon:Oh! I didn't get that memo. I guess I just dust off my space suit and get it ready.  :)

@DaveVernon: No. We're sending @RicksterCDN into space. Did you see his day out at the Houston Space Center during the Countdown Show?

@1wisegeek: Fear not! Won't go that direction.

Haha as long as he brings his entourage :) I know some Canadian attendees that would approve to that 😎

I doubt they will allow beverages at Space Center Houston / Johnson Space Center.

My guess is Toyoto Center or Minute Maid Park.

@TechPorVida:Hahaha. In a way, it's true.  If you hang out with the right people, if you make a point of meeting and making friends, you can have a great time anywhere.  It's all about the company you circle with.  The Closing Party at Teched NOLA 2013 was great and most of us showed up there to enjoy what MS had planned for us, then many split into several groups and hit the town to continue the festivities.  The right mind + the right attitude + the right company = great time!
