Storage during certification exams

Since all of the testing centers in my area have dropped Prometric it looks like I am going to be taking at least one certification exam while at TechEd this year.  Will there be storage/lockers in the testing area like we have at the regular/permanent testing facilities?  I ask because most of us conference attendees will be lugging around a backpack full of kit, and I would hate to show up on time for an exam only to have to run back to the hotel to secure my belongings, then return to the testing center (possibly late).

I took an exam at TechEd last year and we all just kinda threw our bags in a corner next to the moderator. Even with my iPad, phone, etc in the bag, I wasn't worried about it. Figured the moderator would notice if one of the exam takers decided to walk out with five bags instead of one. Angel  And I didn't hear of anyone having any trouble.

@kmcferrin, @DanielStinson and @ljrivera I found out from the Certification team that we have a formal bag check process now in order to be in compliance with the standards put forth by Microsoft and Prometric. When you come to take your exams, you will check in and then the Microsoft team will store your  bag, badge and phone in a secure location in Certification Central (right next to the testing room).  When your are done with your exam you will come back to Certification Central and pick up your results and your belongings.

Excellent news, thanks for the quick answer.  I feel much better with a formal bag check than a "throw your bag in the corner" method.  I'd hope that in years past people weren't trying to make off with someone else's bag, but I would be just as concerned about an honest mistake!  All of the TechEd backpacks look alike, and losing my wallet/phone/laptop would really ruin my week.

Just a quick request for clarification...I was looking at the conference maps and I see a bag check area by registration on the first floor.  However, the certification testing area is on the third floor.  Is there a separate bag check area just for exam candidates?

@Kmcferrin Yes. There is a separate baggage check for exam candidates.

This is not a certification storage question, but could not find the answer anywhere and thought you may be able to answer this one too.

I will be arriving Sunday morning in time for the afternoon community service session.  Will I be able to check my luggage at the conference center, or do I have to go to the hotel first?

@Loriison:Yes. Bag check is open from 7:00 AM-7:00 PM on Sunday, June 2nd in Hall F near registration and materials distribution.

Thank you for the quick response.  I thought that may be the case, but wanted to verify before arrival.
