I get a "Not a Valid Internet Calendar File" error with Outlook 2012.
Could you try it again now? we found a potential bug and just updated the site. See if it works for you now.
@Geoffreyk I still get the same Outlook error: The File "PeterMaria" is not a valid Internet Calendar file.
ok, thanks for the info. We will investigate further.
In Outlook2013, I was able to subscribe, but the calendar is Empty. During the subscription process, it did warn that the calendar did not contain any appointments, even though there are dozens of sessions in my CH9 calendar.
Cant wait for this feature to work!!
ok, We think we got it right this time. The validator that we were using was not exactly, well, valid.
All of the tests we were throwing at it were working for us, but obviously we didn't cover nearly all of the bases.
I think we have the test correct now.
Please give it another try. And let us know what the outcome is if you have a chance.
Sorry for this one taking so long.
Thanks for playing along.
Still not working for me. The file is not a valid Internet Calendar file.
It syncs for me, but scattered the events over different days, starting with today (5/31).
The events listed under today are Hands-on-labs which don't have a date assigned to them.
@NTPROF:Still Not working on any machine, including one with Outlook2010. Same message, "The Internet Calendar file 'TechEd North America 2013' does not contain any appointments. Do you want to add the calendar?"
@AnotherITguy: Ach, that's probably going to mess a few folks up. We'll filter out sessions with no start date from the webcal export.
Is there no option (I don't see one) to import into my calendar (as opposed to subscribe)? My organization has outlawed PST files, so it appears that I can't create the new "subscribed" calendar...
Still does not work on my desktop (Outlook 2010), but after crashing Outlook 2010 on my laptop twice it worked on the third attempt.
@Dan9: We don't natively have an option, but if you change the URL from webcal: to http: it will download the .ICS. You should be able to import from there.
