I am currently working on a blog, but before I publish it I need to get some code done for a section called "Picture Of The Day".

I was hoping that someone could give me some code for a small web application in Javascript, or other language, not ASP as I don't run Windows on my server.

Bascially I need to have an application that will be looking like this, only colorful:

If anyone could help I would be very grateful.

    Thanks in advance

Javascript-based scrollbars are possible, but they're only good when they're implemented well.

99% of all "HTML Javascript" tutorials out there are poorly written as if its still 1998 and still mention Netscape vs. IE

Talk to Sven, he's got a good implementation on one of his sites, but the problem with those is that the trackbar "slips" a lot if you drag your mouse too fast for the Scripting engine to keep up with.

    I don't recommend it.

(Not to mention it makes the UI inconsistent with the existing browser chrome)

    EDIT:

My bad, I thought you were talking about scrollbars created using images and ECMAScript.

I don't know anything about the java script part of it, but FrontPage has a photo gallery built in that looks exactly like what you are describing.  I used it on a Soap Box Derby site - so feel free to look and see if it is any help.
