    how does one give their pc a url address

    forexample, computer@myPC.com, would lead to my pc ip?

    how to do that?

    Foo@Bar.TLD is an SMTP address.

    If you want a DNS entry for your computer you need to register a domain from a registrar (for $$$), then bind the "A" host record to your computer's IP address.

    If you have a dynamic IP address forget it, you really need a static one.

    Your only other option is to use something like DynDNS.com or NoIP.com

    could i do something like this

    Make a website redirect to my dynamic ip, iupdate it automatically each time my ip changes


    would that work?

    I use DynDNS.org to update my dynamic IP address for my blog. It works wonders.

    The NAT has the public IP address, you can choose to move a single computer in your LAN to the DMZ whereby it "acts" as though its the public box, but it still has an internal LAN IP address (192.168.*.* usually)

    ...or you can bind specific ports to be redirected to a target machine.
