    Anyone know wtf happened here and how to fix my 2.0 web apps?
    I believe this is a symptom of installing the 3.5 Framework.

    That reminds me of the Cider error I had using WPF.

    In XAML, I could not reference classes in a mapped namespace (library project dll in solution) to bind to 3.0 controls.

    Is this a VS2005 bug you're having? Not Orcas?

    "xmlns" is not happy with the Cider extension, if I remember.

    Did you install Orcas too?

    Yes, the error is from VS 2005. Yes, I did install Orcas.

    I fixed the problem by going to the webconfig in the 2.0 config folder and deleting all the xmlns fields.

    weird.

    Ya know what else bites, this piece of code used to work before I installed Orcas, and now it doesn't, not even in VS.Net 2005.

    protected void RemoveHeader()
    {

       MasterPage myMaster = Master;
       Control header_Control = myMaster.FindControl("master_header");

    header_Control.Visible = false;

    }

    ==========================================
    // #$%@! Error
    ==========================================
    Error 14 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' to 'MasterPage'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) c:\inetpub\wwwroot\AJAXLynn\Default.aspx.cs 21 31 http://localhost/AJAXLynn/

    //and ppl wonder why I despise 'cutting edge' web dev so much! Too many integration headaches!

    You tried this?

    protected void RemoveHeader()
    {
       System.Web.UI.MasterPage.MasterPage myMaster =
          (System.Web.UI.MasterPage)Master;

       Control header_Control =
          myMaster.FindControl"master_header");

       header_Control.Visible = false;
    }

    ==========================================
    // #$%@! Error
    ==========================================
    Error 14 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage'

    I'm relieved MSDN subscriptions now include the Expression suite, I wonder how they perform...
