Understanding Visual Studio Team System "Editions"?

    Hi there,

I've got a possibly simple question and couldn't find a precise answer anywhere on Microsoft.com:

My company plans to introduce Visual Studio Team System for the .NET development teams. However, we struggle with finding out which "editions" we require. This is primarily cause by the ambiguity of product names and editions in that area.

    Couple of questions:

    - Does "Microsoft Viusal Studio Team System 2008 Team Suite" comprise all the features of the "Architecture Edition", "Development Edition", "Database Edition" and "Test Edition" -- or is it yet another addition?

    - Is Team Foundation Server part of every edition or do we have to purchase it separately and all of the above editions support connecting to it?

    - Does anybody know a resource where all the editions are compared against each others?

Thanks for helping to gain clarity.

    -Ralf

The server part must be purchased separately.

    It comprise all the features.

Just to be clear, Team Suite includes each of the editions, but Team Suite is not an "edition" in itself.

Unless you buy the Team System Suit, which includes a 5 user license.
