hmm where to start.  at the beginning.

ok so i have no experience in C# but kinda wanna learn, and wanna throw myself in at the deepend.

If anyone has seen or used G6 Utilities http://www.gene6.com/?page=products&sub=2&lang=en you'll know its very useful.  However i'd like to create my own simpler version of it.  I believe my uni has VS.Net 2003 (or maybe 02).  So i want to be able to load a List Box with files i have selected from a directory and then edit the filename strings so maybe "Jaz work doc 7.doc" reads "Jaz Work Doc(7).doc" instead.

just looking for some tutorials on how to get started on this project.

    Cheers.

Are you familiar with any programming, or with the IDE at all? Just wondering how high level we'll need to be in helping you out with this Smiley

okay.. you can do this using VB.NET as well, and this can be done using Systems.IO namespace.

ok,  i'm familiar with the IDE, but i mainly do C on unix in uni.

i'm not looking for answers i'm looking for examples where i can fit the puzzle together myself by extracting bits and bobs.
