    Hi,

We are working on migration of on premises asp.net application to azure.

We are plan to create this application as web role project and make it as cloud service. We will  create azure virtual network site to site VPN option for  interconnecting azure & on premises machines. Our requirement is to adding the we role hosted machine into azure virtual network and make available for on premises machine access. Also we required to change the azure web role hosted machine domain to on premises domain (i.e changing the domain of web role). This will help us to authenticate users via windows authentication(domain users).

    So please confirm

    1. "Is it possible to change web role domain in azure?"

    2. If yes is the answer for question number [1], then "Is it possible to configure IIS of web role hosted azure machine to do windows authentication?"

AFAIK, you can add your AD to ACS following instruction in this article.

    More on ADFS.

Thanks for your answer . But our main clarification is,

    1. Is it possible to change web role domain in azure?

    2. Is it possible to configure IIS of web role hosted azure machine to do windows authentication?

    1. No.

    2. No.

If you want to host things joined to your corporate domain then it's going to have to be VMs. Or you delegate auth via ACS or ADFS and use Azure Web Sites.
