WCF Service endpoint binding issue

    Hi!

    I'm getting a very strange error :

An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http: ....

This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol.
This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details.

More info: We're using bassicHTTP binding

    The weird part is this:

    1: It only happens intermittently.

2: It only happens for one of the methods in that service. None of the other methods called has this issue.

    Any ideas?  Perplexed

    Thanks in advance!

I would suggest enabling tracing then combing through the output. Hopefully that will give more clues.

@lesmemphis:The binding is fine, if it was an issue with it, things would never ever work at all, the fact that this happens intermittently points the network being unavailable intermittently, or we need a code sample showing what this "one" method does

start logging and tracing and examine what that thing does.

for example if the service code throws an odd exception that results in the return type being invalid the client may log / report that it had an error getting the reply.

put in good tracing and logging and find the real error.
