Users wanted 5GB only? Which users? Who in the right mind would want to replace live sync's online 25GB with .... wait for it.... wait for it.... smaller 5 GB? Are you kidding me? Google it (not Bing it; since it may not find it ) and you will see, that EVERYBODY outside MS was/ still is complaining about the lesser storage.
