@Clint:I was meaning the hardware interconnects. Release the interconnect standard (what pins, SPI, I2C, PWM IO etc) are on which connector type under something like the new OSHW definition. This would be really cool if you could get others building addons.
The real advantage to me of this over the Arduino connector layout is how easy it is to attach say three cameras to the same board. It really makes it easy to slap some hardware together to try something out.
Very cool. I realy hope that microsoft put's the spec of the interface out in the public domain. There are so many people these days supplying breakout boards to the hobby market (such as sparkfun) it would be great if there could be a standard interface adopted between the likes of the Arduino and .NetMF boards. You could even offer the Gadgeteer interface as an Arduino Shield to help kick start adoption.
@Clint: Awsome stuff, I have several MF devices and really like them, they have pretty much replaced the Arduinos I used to use. It would be great if they could build up a comminity around it the same the Arduino has with it's shields.
I really wish the UK would sort out the cable system the same way the US cable card seems to be doing. I would love to move to a network based tuner system, but until I can find a system that works with Sky or Virgin without going the digital->analogue->digital I'm kind of stuck.
Well actuall I only really want a couple of premium changes, other than that I have a US point of presences I can VPN to so I can use Amazon, Hulu and the like, but it really shouldn't be this hard should it?
@SteveRichter: I wouldn't say windows mobile never went anywhere, it did quite well for a while then totally lost the plot, why that happened is the real question, what happened to cause such a major loss of focus on where the market was going.
