Nice video and exciting feature. I'm bummed that this is not available in Visual Basic. We have some really large projects that would benefit in a huge way. Are we going to see IntelliTest support Visual Basic in the future?
Thanks for the video! I have a question about the new Buffer Pool Extension. It appears that this might work similar to ReadyBoost on Windows. In our setup we have all of our SQL Server databases stored on a NAS loaded with SSDs connected by 10 Gb connections, so disk IO is already pretty fast. Could we still expect to see benefits by adding an SSD to the host machine and implementing the Buffer Pool Extension? If so, what benefits do you think there would be?
Watching this was painful. There were no real LOB applications featured; just dashboards and remote desktops. At the start he suggests that 98% of apps could be moved to this new UI design and distribution model. I don't understand how 98% of LOB applications can be turned into what are essentially glorified widgets. It's so frustrating that Microsoft is pushing this type of interface so hard when its very evident that they couldn't get any of their business applications to work (i.e.: Office). Not every application should have an iPad equivalent. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here!
