The Windows Store button has had the "Coming Soon" text under it since the post was put up at the beginning of May. Is there any traction on this? Do we have an ETA?
@the_corona: FYI, the aspect radio changer is in Tools->Options->Devices, then select display and change the properties. It's a bit fiddly, yes, but it's there and I use it all the time.
But I do agree with you, I have a nice fast connection at work and the videos that are on Channel9 could look a lot better if the bandwidth was utilised a bit more. Although I'd probably have the IT guy jumping on my head for killing his bandwidth!
Wow. Charles, I have new found respect for you. Going on about AI base, and Homeostatic OSes, just made my jaw drop.
This video was really interesting, especially coming from someone that has practically no knowledge of what ACTUALLY goes on inside an operating system. The idea of managed code inside an OS is quite intriguing.
Oh wow! She's British AND a woman AND working in Microsoft!!!
Go Britain!!
I don't think that the need for women in IT is as big here in England as America, as I see it.
In my university Computer Science course classes, I'd have to say that very close to half of the people there are women. Granted that most of them are doing Business Computing and Information Systems, but they're still doing IT based stuff, and will eventually
be led into a job that is dealing directly with IT.
I think that women should be introduced more to technology, though, simply to give us geeks something else to dream about at night
He may be the richest guy in the world. He may have been the boss of the largest company in the world. He may be in the fastest growing industry in the world. He may know his industry inside-out and back-to-front.
But at the end of the day, he's a geek. #1 reason why I love Microsoft
The beta name given is mail. Is it going to be:
name@mail.com from now on? I'd actually want mail rather than hotmail, if that's on the cards. Also, POP access should be a definite requirement.
Rgds,
Farooq
Unfortunately Mail.com, as a domain and as a service already exists, so I doubt the 'hot' will be dropping from Hotmail with the arrival of the new system.
Why was there a sudden cut when Omar was talking about other browsers' support for Kahuna? I really wanted to know if Firefox would support it.
I love Microsoft dearly, but I wouldn't touch IE6 with a barge poll
