Sign in to queue

Description

This video walks you through the simple steps of signing up for Windows Azure HDInsight preview, creating your first cluster, and running two Map Reduce samples.  If you are trying the HDInsight service yourself, please make sure you shutdown the cluster when you no longer need it.  HDInsight clusters are using multiple compute instances to do parallel processing in the cloud, please remember a default cluster uses 24 cores with a 8 core head node and 4x4core compute nodes.

    Hi,

Apart from understanding the general principle this is a new subject for me, and these videos are helping a lot. Looking forward to more in this series.

    Many thanks

    Paul
