Show Us Your Tech: 'Softie Builds 737 Cockpit In His House

If you watched the Mix 11 keynote, you probably saw Coding4Fun's mad scientist Clint Rutkas driving around in his Kinect-powered, gestured-controlled recliner. In this Show Us Your Tech I talked to Clint in the middle of building it and again after the keynote. Clint shows us inside the hardware, shows us the software, and tells us about some of the design challenges and changes he made during the build.
so at the 9 minute marker, i said it was hard to turn, it was hard since i mounted the wheels in the wrong pattern. I had them in an X but it should have been in an 0 shape for the treads. I corrected this after we got back and Jellybean can turn on a dime now
Haha! This looks amazing! Good job!
pretty awesome!!
I wonder what was the total budget for this thing.
I know that frame and wheels will run up to $2000 depending on a model and vendor.
Could you give us some ranges?
Wheels were $710, total frame cost would be about $1600
