Finding Code Samples in Visual Studio with Developer Assistant

Sign in to queue

Description

Did you know you can search for code snippets from places like CodeProject and MSDN from inside Visual Studio? You can with the Developer Assistant for Visual Studio. This extension is available for Visual Studio 2012, 2013, and 2015. In this short video I'll show you how to find code samples from different libraries using the Programming Task assistant; how to get code snippets suggestions within intellisense with the API assistant; and how to quickly look up compiler errors using the compiler error assistant. If you want to get really clever you can even customize Developer Assistant to search through your personal projects for code samples using the Local Code search feature. You can find instructions on how to configure the local code feature on the download pages for Developer Assistant specific to your edition of Visual Studio (2012, 2013, 2015). Happy coding!

I've only watched the first and last episodes so far, but found them very useful. I've shared on LinkedIn, don't know if it would be possible to add a button for that? I've shared the link on Facebook too, but couldn't use the button because I've got apps disabled.
