@omegagx:Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. We are exploring full GUI access, regarding ISO Mount and booting from it, could you please provide details on what scenario you are trying to light up.

If I want to decrease the size of a partition holding the C drive, I would need to boot the Windows VM from the gparted LiveCD ISO image. Then I could change the partition size and boot back into the VM. I don't think there's a way to do that currently while this is a simple task on the on-premise ESXi hosted Windows VM.

Do you think that full RDP-style console access to Windows Azure VMs would be available this year or is it in the more distant future?

@omegagx:Thanks ! , you could achieve the same if you booted out from an OS in another data drive. Though we are exploring options to make this simple. Regarding full RDP style console, we are exploring that currently so dont have any specifics in the dates. Please note we are exploring option to allow f8 option in the console, so if you then enable bootems on your system ( see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/serial-console#enabling-boot-menu-to-show-in-the-serial-console ) then you can boot also to the partitions that you want on reboot.

Do you have any estimate on how long it would take to implement the full RDP-style GUI console access? Do you think there is any chance at all it would happen this year or is it a few years away?
